Secret Service Shoots at Suspects Trying to Break into Car at Naomi Biden's Home
Secret Service agents opened fire on people attempting to break into a car outside the Georgetown home of President Joe Biden’s granddaughter, Naomi Biden, on Sunday night, according to sources familiar with the situation.
The incident occurred just before midnight when Secret Service agents encountered three individuals breaking a window on a parked and unoccupied government vehicle. One of the agents discharged a service weapon, but no one was struck by the gunfire. The three individuals fled the scene in a red vehicle and a regional lookout was issued to supporting units.
The Metropolitan Police Department and Secret Service are investigating the incident. It is unclear why the individuals were attempting to break into the car, or if they were aware that it was a government vehicle.
Naomi Biden, 29, is the president’s oldest granddaughter. She is a law student at Georgetown University and lives in the Georgetown neighborhood of Washington, D.C.
