Colin Kaepernick Offers to Join Jets in Hopes of NFL Comeback
Colin Kaepernick, the former NFL quarterback who has been out of the league since 2016, has written a letter to the New York Jets offering to join the team. In the letter, which was shared on Instagram by rapper J. Cole, Kaepernick says he would be “honored” to join the Jets and “lead the practice squad” with “the sole mission of getting your defense ready each week.”
Kaepernick’s offer comes at a time when the Jets are struggling, having lost their first two games of the season. Starting quarterback Zach Wilson has been inconsistent, and the team has been plagued by turnovers.
Meanwhile, Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers has called on the team to “grow up” after its recent losses. In an appearance on “The Pat McAfee Show,” Rodgers said the Jets need to “take a couple of breaths” and “lock in and do our job.”
It is unclear whether the Jets will accept Kaepernick’s offer. The team has previously stated that it is committed to Wilson as its starting quarterback. However, Kaepernick’s offer has generated a lot of buzz on social media, with many fans calling for the Jets to give him a chance.
