Aaron Rodgers Says He May Be Back Next Month After Tearing Achilles Tendon
Aaron Rodgers, quarterback for the New York Jets, is making remarkable progress in his recovery from a torn Achilles tendon. Rodgers suffered the injury on the fourth snap of the season against the Buffalo Bills and had surgery the next day.
In an interview on the Pat McAfee Show on Monday, Rodgers said that he is targeting a return to the field next month.
“I’m feeling really good,” Rodgers said. “I’m ahead of schedule in my rehab and I’m on track to be back next month. I’m not sure exactly which game it will be, but I’m excited to get back out there and help my team.”
Rodgers said that he has been working hard in rehab and is feeling stronger every day. He is also able to walk without crutches and is starting to do some light running.
“I’m able to do a lot of the things that I need to do to be a quarterback,” Rodgers said. “I can throw the ball, I can move around in the pocket, and I’m starting to get my explosiveness back.”
Rodgers’ return would be a huge boost for the Jets, who are currently 5-5 and fighting for a playoff spot. The Jets have been relying on backup quarterback Zach Wilson, who has played well in Rodgers’ absence, but Rodgers is a future Hall of Famer and one of the best quarterbacks in the league.
“Aaron is our leader and we’re excited to have him back,” Jets head coach Robert Saleh said. “He’s a special player and he makes our team better.”
Rodgers’ recovery is a testament to his hard work and dedication. He is one of the most professional players in the NFL and he is determined to come back as strong as ever.
