Kevin Costner Opens Up About Whitney Houston and Sets the Record Straight on Dating Jewel

Actor Kevin Costner is making the rounds promoting his new film, “Horizon: An American Saga,” but during a recent appearance on SiriusXM’s The Howard Stern Show, he also took a moment to address some personal topics.

Fans of Costner’s work will likely remember his unforgettable on-screen chemistry with the late Whitney Houston in the classic movie “The Bodyguard.” Costner didn’t delve into details, but he did acknowledge the enduring impact Houston had, both on him and audiences.

Shifting gears, Stern, known for his no-holds-barred interview style, brought up rumors swirling around Costner and singer Jewel. Costner was quick to shut down any speculation of a romantic relationship.

“Jewel and I are friends,” Costner stated clearly. “We’ve never gone out, ever.” He emphasized that he values their friendship and doesn’t want the rumors to taint it. “She’s special,” he said of Jewel, “and I don’t want these rumors to ruin our friendship because that’s what we have.”

Apparently, the rumors stemmed from a trip Costner took to Richard Branson’s private island, Necker Island. He explained they were part of a group of nine people, including Jewel, and that they had some great conversations while there.

Costner even admitted to finding Jewel attractive, “She’s beautiful and smart enough for all those things,” he said, “it just never happened for us.”

While there may not be a real-life romance between Costner and Jewel, fans can still catch Costner on the big screen in “Horizon: An American Saga,” which is set to hit theaters soon.
