Yan Gomes Records One Hit as Cubs Fall to Rockies
Yan Gomes went 1-for-4 with a single as the Chicago Cubs lost to the Colorado Rockies 6-4 on Tuesday night at Coors Field. The loss snapped the Cubs’ three-game winning streak.
Gomes’ single came in the second inning. He was the only Cub to record multiple hits.
The Rockies scored three runs in the first inning and two runs in the third inning to take a 5-0 lead. The Cubs scored two runs in the fourth inning and one run in the eighth inning, but they could not get closer.
Gomes is batting .250 with two home runs and 10 RBIs in 11 games this season. He is a two-time All-Star and won a World Series with the Washington Nationals in 2019.
The Cubs and Rockies will conclude their three-game series on Wednesday afternoon.
