Daniel Jones Neck Injury: MRI to Determine Severity

New York Giants quarterback Daniel Jones exited Sunday’s game against the Miami Dolphins with a neck injury in the fourth quarter. Jones was sacked by Dolphins linebacker Andrew Van Ginkel and took a hit to the head and neck. He was able to walk off the field under his own power, but was ruled out for the remainder of the game.

Jones is scheduled to have an MRI on Monday to determine the extent of the injury. The Giants have not yet provided any further updates on his condition.

This is the second time in two years that Jones has suffered a neck injury. He missed the final six games of the 2021 season with a cervical strain.

Jones’ injury is a major blow to the Giants, who are already struggling to find their footing in the early going of the 2023 season. Jones has been one of the few bright spots for the Giants offense this year, throwing for 1,165 yards and six touchdowns in four games.

If Jones is forced to miss any time, the Giants will turn to backup quarterback Tyrod Taylor. Taylor has limited experience as a starter, but he is a capable backup who can keep the Giants afloat until Jones returns.
