Brace Yourselves, Stoke-on-Trent! Thunderstorms Brewing Today with Downpours and Lightning

Hey across the pond! Heard Stoke-on-Trent is in for a wild ride today. While I’m enjoying some sunshine here in the States, it looks like you guys are facing a day of thundershowers.

The Met Office has issued a thunderstorm warning, so keep those umbrellas handy! Here’s a quick rundown of what to expect:

  • Morning: Light showers are expected from around 8 am, turning heavier between 9 am and 11 am.
  • Afternoon: Brace yourselves for some thundery action! The heaviest storms are predicted between 1 pm and 2 pm, followed by lighter rain until 6 pm. It might pick up again around 5 pm, and another round of thunderstorms is possible at 6 pm.
  • Evening: Thankfully, things should calm down by the evening. Expect a light shower around 7 pm, followed by a (hopefully) dry night.
  • Temperatures: Don’t expect it to be a scorcher. Highs will only reach around 15°C (that’s about 59°F for us Fahrenheit folks).

Stay Weather-Wise!

With thunderstorms on the agenda, it’s always a good idea to be prepared. Here are some quick tips:

  • Stay indoors during the heaviest storms.
  • If you must be outside, avoid open areas and tall trees.
  • Don’t use electronic devices during a thunderstorm.
  • Be aware of potential flash flooding.
